HI Energy at HI-FI

This is the sixth and final in a series of blogs featuring the Venture Club, written by Evening MBA student Kelci Dye.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, Powderkeg hosted another Pitch Night in partnership with Cintrifuse. This event took place at HI-FI in Fountain Square. I don’t know if it was because of the venue, panelists, presenters, or because spring is in the air, but this event was extremely high energy. From the moment I walked in the door until the last presenter walked off the stage, the energy was contagious.

For the pitch portion of the evening, the presenting entrepreneurs consisted of iReportSource, Venture 360 and Bottoms Up Beer. Each company did a fabulous job sharing their company overview and staying within the allotted five minutes. The advisors who asked questions of the entrepreneurs were Eric Weissmann from Cintrifuse, Chelsea Linder from gener8tor and Tony Newcome from Salesforce. The evening was hosted by Matt Hunckler from Powderkeg.

Josh Springer from Bottoms Up Beer gave the highest energy presentation. I’m sure it helped that he does comedy in his spare time. Even still, he painted a picture of a problem that many people can relate to and provided a solution that no one else in the industry is offering. His passion for what he is doing came through with every word he spoke.

This was a great event to wrap up my MBA career. It left me feeling energized and excited to start pursuing my passions in the “real” world. Over the last three years of my MBA career, I have received a much deeper appreciation for the business opportunities here in Indianapolis and am grateful for the doors this program has opened. I am ready to start the next chapter and use the tools the Kelley MBA has given me.

Several entrepreneurs from various start-ups around Indianapolis shared details of their companies and presented pitches.  Pictured above is Venture360.
