Kelley Indianapolis students have been busy in the last couple weeks participating—and excelling—in IUPUI pitch competitions.
At the JagStart Student Idea Pitch Competition, more than a dozen students gave their three minute elevator pitch to judges and a live audience.
This included multiple Kelley Indianapolis students and a pre-business student as well.
Kelley Evening MBA student Brian Holden, MBA'18, received third place for his elevator pitch on "SoundHabitat," which is a web and mobile based app that aims to reinvent the way the local music industry operates. Holden is studying finance and entrepreneurship.
Iris Huixian Wang, MBA’17, MSA’17, received the "Audience Choice" award for her idea called "Feed Now." Feed Now is a nonprofit that provides a web-based “marketplace," connecting excess food from the food service industry, including campus cafeterias and catering companies, to local homeless shelters, qualified charities and individuals nearby in real time.
The idea for "Stadium Hero" took second place. It was presented by student Julian Keefe, and it was created by a team including Kelley students Iris Wang and Mike Huang at the IUPUI Sports Innovation Institute – 24 Hour Innovation Challenge pitch competition.
Mike Huang, BS’17, presented his idea called “Donya - Your Bowl, Right Away,” which is a fully automated Japanese style fast-casual restaurant.
Nicolas Ferraro, a pre-business freshman, presented his idea called “Green Sales,” which is a hemp processing plant that processes raw hemp stalk into fibers used in many different industries from paper to bio-fuel.
Amadin Agho, BS’17, and Karl Hibbert, BS’17, presented their idea called “EnerSplice.” This would allow people to essentially share energy from your friend’s phone when your battery is dying.
