Q: What was your first job?

Not sure which actually was first, but in junior high I cut lawns, delivered newspapers and caddied.

Q: A surprising fact about you?

I come from an IU family:  My father had two degrees from Kelley (BS and MBA), my brother and sister went to IU and so did my wife, Barb—we met when we were doctoral students in Kelley—who also teaches in Kelley.

Q: What does your job involve day-to-day?

Reading—cases, books and student papers. This week it is only student papers. Talking to students and other faculty.

That is what makes being a business school professor such a great job—I get to learn about how to make businesses better and get to talk about it to great people.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Find something you really like and do it; the money will take care of itself.
