Meet six of our newest staff members below:
How long have you worked for Indiana University and Kelley? I started at IU Bloomington in 2019 and moved to IUPUI just this past March (2021).
Where is your hometown? Central Indiana
What is the best part of your job? What are you most excited for as we get into Fall 2021?
Supporting student development is the best part of my job. When they learn something from a conversation or a program that they can apply to their own professional development, that’s exciting.
What is your career and education background? I have a B.A. in Communication Studies, an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs, and recently completed the Certificate in Business Management through Kelley. I have worked at three different universities in variety of functional areas including academic advising, student programming, student centers, and most recently – career development.
What was your first job? For one of my first jobs, I was kitchen support/dishwasher.
What is your favorite food? Breakfast food!
How do you spend your time outside of Kelley? Most of my time outside of work is spent with family and my dog.
What is the best advice you ever received? One piece of advice that I try to practice is to listen first. Kind of follows Covey’s “seek to understand before trying to be understood” concept.
How long have you worked for Kelley? Six months

What is the best part of your job? What are you most excited for as we head into Fall 2021? Meeting with students and hearing follow-up stories about their successful job search.

What is your favorite food?
Mexican food! Enchiladas, burritos, tacos, fajitas. All of it!
Name a surprising or fun fact about you:
I’ve run in multiple ultramarathons, including running 52 miles in 12 hours.
How do you spend your time outside of Kelley?
Cooking, running, and playing with my Great Dane/German Shepherd mix Zoey
What is the best advice you ever received?
My dad told me I’d be an idiot if I didn’t marry my now-wife. He was completely right.

How long have you worked for Kelley? Since June 2021
Where is your hometown? Small town in southern Illinois – Carterville, IL
What are you most excited for as we get into Fall 2021? I love back-to-school time! The beginning of a new school year is always so excited and especially exciting this year because we are back to a bit more normal operation since COVID. We get to see students in-person again!
What is your career and education background? I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Illinois State University (Go Redbirds!) and my MA of Education in Student Affairs from Iowa State University. I have worked the past four years as an academic advisor at the University of Indianapolis before joining Kelley this past summer.
What was your first job? Aside from babysitting, I worked in the gift shop/team store at a stadium for the Southern Illinois Minors, a professional baseball team.
What is your favorite food? Pizza
Name a surprising or fun fact about you: I have lived in every state that begins with an “I”
How do you spend your time outside of Kelley? I love going to live events, especially concerts and musicals. I also love going on walks arounds my neighborhood and exploring downtown Indy.
What is the best advice you ever received? “It’s the hard way, but it’s the right way.”
What is your favorite quote? “Let no opportunity be too small for your time and let no opportunity be too big for your possibilities.”

I have been with IU (Kokomo campus) for the last six years, the last four months at Kelley.

What is the best part of your job? Planning and organizing! Plus, the people here are great. I have an amazing team 😊
What is your career and education background?
I have a Business BS and an MBA. I’m currently working on a Graduate Certificate in Communications.
I have worked in a variety of areas both public and nonprofit organizations. Some of which include Staff Accountant at Bucheri, McCarty & Metz, CPA firm, Financial and Quality Assurance Associate for Bona Vista Programs, Business Director for Kokomo YMCA and my most recently I was Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at IU Kokomo. My diverse career background has helped me grow and develop in so many ways – so grateful for my zigzag path.
What was your first job?
Well, my first job where I paid taxes was Burger King at age 15. Before then I worked summers helping paint apartment complexes.
What is your favorite food?
Hmmmm… I would have to say wood fire margherita pizza.
Name a surprising or fun fact about you:
I was a certified fitness instructor for over 20 years.
How do you spend your time outside of Kelley?
I love spending time with my husband and four kiddos (three in college, one senior in high school). We like to eat and are all competitive, so big family dinners and playing games are a big part of our gatherings. Me and the hubs like to bike, kayak, golf and go for drives in the country. I love my fitness and outdoors for sure – running, biking, hiking, CrossFit and so on. I also enjoy listening to true crime/ psychological thriller audiobooks while I am running (makes me go faster). And I do like to cozy up with a great book when I get the chance.
What is the best advice you ever received?
“You don’t have to be the smartest person in the room, just the most prepared”
What is your favorite quote?
Too many to list, I love all the quotes! As a lover of words, I appreciate the power they have to impact our mood and lives at any given time. But here is one that is always relevant. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” - Gandhi
How long have you worked for IUPUI? How long have you been with Kelley? I previously worked for IUPUI for 6 yrs. I left, and then came back. I’ve been with Kelley for 3 months.

What is the best part of your job? What are you most excited for as we get into Fall 2021? The best part and what I am looking forward to this fall is to be working with students

How do you spend your time outside of Kelley? Hanging with my pup Ottis; painting; roller blading; thrifting; watching tv or sleeping
What is the best advice you ever received? “Be kind to yourself”

Where is your hometown? LaGrange, IN
What is the best part of your job? The best part of my job is that every day is different -- I get to work on such a wide variety of projects!
What is your career and education background? I have my bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication Design and I have been a graphic designer in higher-education for the past 4 years.
What was your first job? My first job was at our family-owned candy factory where I helped make and package (and taste test) the candy!
What is your favorite food? Iced coffee. I know that isn’t technically a food, but I can’t live without it!
Name a surprising or fun fact about you: I have been sky diving!
How do you spend your time outside of Kelley? Walks with my dog, Benny, bike rides on the Monon, going to Orange Theory Fitness classes, spending time with friends and family!
